The Canadian jewelry designer, maker and Modernist pioneer Rafael Alfandary was well known for his bold organic designs. His signature materials were largely copper, brass and Murano glass. Through the 70s and early 80s his unisex jewelry pieces were in great demand and were worn by the likes of Margaret Trudeau, Liberace, Mohammad Ali, Lorne Green, Paul Anka and in the year of his death, at the 2005 People’s Choice Awards by Prince. He also designed the 1973 Miss Canada Pageant Crown.
